But if you don’t want to spend time reading every tomato ketchup bottles in the grocery store, this recipe is for you! Tomato ketchup made from scratch and using REAL TOMATOES! With a few ingredients at hand, you can make this easily at home! So get your friend chicken, lumpia, and porkchops ready because they’ll be dipped in real tomato sauce and it’ll taste amazing!

Tomato Ketchup (MADE FROM SCRATCH!)

Serves: 1 cup
Ingredients
  • ¼ cup Olive Oil
  • 2 cups Cherry Tomatoes or Regular Ripe Tomatoes, chopped
  • 1 clove Garlic, minced
  • 2 tbsp Cane Vinegar
  • 1 tbsp raw sugar
  • To Taste Salt and Pepper
Procedure
  1. In a shallow frypan, heat the olive oil and sauté your garlic and tomatoes over medium heat. Simmer for 2-3 minutes or until the tomatoes are softened. Toss occasionally and slightly mash the tomatoes breaking it down into chunks and releasing the tomatoes juice.
  2. Deglaze the pan with vinegar. Add the sugar and add salt and pepper to taste
  3. Keep the sauce chunky and can be served while still hot. Best served with tortang talong, lumpiang shanghai and fried chicken.
